	Lost Dog Café Expansion Creates More Homes for Strays
	Encore Construction helps Lost Dog Café extend compassion with restaurant expansion.   Arlington, VA – January, 2010 - The Lost Dog Café in Arlington, Virginia recently celebrated its grand reopening after a $450,000 remodel and expansion of the 3,700 square foot location at 5876 N. Washington, Blvd.  Since 1985 the Lost Dog Café continues to serve pizza, sandwiches and beer from around the world.  Owners Ross Underwood and Pam McAlwee have used their Lost Dog Café success to create the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation.    Underwood and McAlwee have been rescuing stray dogs and cats since Lost Dog Café established its presence in 1985. The owners have used the Lost Dog Café as a catalyst to establish the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation. This non-profit organization places almost 2000 animals per year into permanent homes. The foundation’s efforts are continually supported by the Lost Dog Café and its sister restaurant, the Stray Cat Café.   Encore Construction was the general commercial contractor for the project. Encore Construction is a restaurant contractor in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. The Lost Dog Café project utilized the existing laundry mat in the strip center for expansion. The scope of work included a new bar and a new state of the art kitchen. The existing building was from the 1960s and required a tremendous effort to complete the remodel and expansion within a four week time frame.
